Butyl rubber (referred to as IIR) is the fourth largest synthetic rubber (SR) in the world. It is the product of cationic polymerization of isobutene and isoprene under the action of Friedel-Craft catalyst. The appearance is white or light yellow crystal, odorless and tasteless, the glass conversion temperature is very low, and insoluble in ethanol and acetone.

Butyl rubber is a linear polymer formed by copolymerization of isobutene and isoprene, and then cross-linked by vulcanization into a network structure. Among them, the isoprene content is generally 1.5% to 4.5%, white or light gray, odorless and tasteless. Density of 91g/cm3, glass transition temperature -67 ~ -69℃. Insoluble in ethanol and acetone, resistant to animal and plant oil, oxygen and ozone, acid and alkali resistance, cold resistance, air tightness and electrical insulation are good, tensile strength and elongation are also high.

Butyl rubber sealing tape is use for seal the bagging film and mold in Vacuum infusion process . It with good adhesive but easy to remove when demolding ,good elongation, and good heat resistance which can meet the resin exothermic peak.
